Sending 160,000 global PM professionals the news every week
Today’s Project Management Global briefing: When Politics Rewrites the Plan.
Conflict in the Middle East has injected fresh volatility into an already fragile region. Oil prices are twitchy, insurers are nervous, and supply chains that run through the Gulf are once again affected. For projects across the world, that usually translates into two things: delay and cost.
Energy-linked programmes will feel it first, but construction, infrastructure and transport won’t be far behind. When prices swing, contingency disappears quickly. When security tightens, movement slows. Schedules slip not because teams fail, but because the ground shifts beneath them.
This is the uncomfortable truth about major projects in geopolitically sensitive regions: risk registers rarely stay theoretical for long.
For those operating in affected areas, we’re acutely aware this is more than a market story. We hope everyone stays safe while navigating what is, once again, an uncertain moment for the region and for global delivery.
You may have also spotted a refreshed look to the newsletter today and going forward. It forms part of a wider effort to sharpen what we deliver and how we deliver it. We have listened closely to feedback from across the FM community. The message was clear: keep it relevant, keep it focused, keep it useful. We hope you enjoy it.
